This past Saturday on June 9, 2012 Wade Wilson Art partnered with PrintHouston 2012 and MFAH to present a free art workshop for children 9-14 years old who are interested in discovering the art of printmaking. Instructors demonstrated how to create simple block prints and mono prints. The students printed their own artist prints to take home with them that day. The workshop included a VIP viewing of print selections from the MFAH ’s Prints and Drawings Permanent Collection. Instructors brought examples of their own prints for viewing as well and select examples from the MFAH Permanent Collecton.
A day full of paint and fun, the course was taught by Armando Rodriquez, teacher and artist, and Rebecca Dunham, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Prints & Drawings, MFAH. Guest artist instructors included Lucinda Cobley, Felipe Lopez, and Joan Winter. Art supplies were donated by Armando Rodriquez and Wade Wilson.
