Felipe Lopez Showcases Recycled Metal Sculptures at Clearwater Public Library's 'Inspired By Nature' Exhibition
"Inspired By Nature" Exhibition at Clearwater Public Library
In May 2023, sculptor Felipe Lopez had the honor of participating in the "Inspired By Nature" exhibition, organized by the Clearwater Arts Alliance at the Clearwater Public Library. This event celebrated nature through various forms of art, including sculptures, paintings, and photography. As a specialist in using recycled materials, Felipe presented several of his works, including:
Golden Frog (Rana Dorada) – a sculpture created from repurposed metal objects.
Anaconda – winner of the CAA Member Choice Award, made from metal bolts.
Spider Crab – a representation of a crab using recycled metal.
Antirealism – a piece that showcases abstract elements using repurposed metal objects.
One of the exhibition’s highlights was when Felipe won the popular vote at the Art in the Park event in October 2023, held at Coachman Park in Clearwater. This recognition reinforces his passion for creating art from materials that many consider waste, giving them new life through sculpture.
Additionally, his work was featured in a segment on Fox 13 News, where his sculptures and the exhibition were showcased. You can watch the full video of the segment here.
The exhibition was attended by over 200 people, and the works were on display until August 25. For more information about the exhibition and the Clearwater Arts Alliance, you can read the full article on Creative Pinellas here.
Felipe Lopez is deeply grateful to the Clearwater Arts Alliance for their ongoing support of local artists and for the opportunity to showcase his work on such a prestigious platform.
